Fee Information
A yearly invoice will be issued prior to the start of the school year outlining the fees applicable to your enrolment/s.
Fees include:
- Tuition fees
- Excursions
- Curriculum Class Camps – includes the compulsory end-of-Term 4 High School camp, but does not include major High School camps such as the Central Australian camp or any overseas camps.
- Working Bee levy
- Music Tuition (For Classes 5 – 12)
- High School Levy (For Classes 7 – 12)
Indigenous students enrolled for the entire academic year are eligible for a government subsidy. The school will provide this subsidy to families through future fee reductions.
Although paying the yearly invoice in full is not compulsory, it will allow the school to allocate 5% of your payment to the High School Scholarship Fund. You will be provided a tax-deductible receipt for this 5% portion.
Fees are due two weeks prior to the start of the school year.
- If paying term-by-term, Term 2, 3 & 4 fees are due one week prior to the start of each term.
Please refer to the Enrolment Contract and School Enrolment Policy for other details.
Exclusions
The Annual Fee does not include the following:
- Enrolment Charges
- For new Kindergarten students, a non-deductible $500 deposit is due on enrolment. This deposit will be deducted from the balance due at the start of the school year.
- For other new enrolments, one term of fees is payable in advance upon finalisation of the enrolment process.
- Year 11 & 12 students – Distance Education and TVET courses are charged separately by the applicable education provider, and are not included in the Annual School Fee.
Payment Options
For payment of fees, the school will provide its bank details with the invoice.
If you would prefer to spread the payment of fees across the school year, Newcastle Waldorf School has partnered with Edstart, a leading education payment provider. This allows families to schedule their payments in weekly, fortnightly or monthly installments, or extended over a longer period as arranged with Edstart. Applications can be made at any time of the year by visiting Edstart.
Contribution
If you would like to make a donation to support your school community, Newcastle Waldorf School is gratefully accepting contributions for:
- The Building Levy – although optional, the school encourages a tax-deductible donation of $100 per family per year to aide its goals of enhancing our learning spaces and playgrounds in the coming years, whilst achieving our sustainability goals.
- The High School Scholarship Fund – this fund is to encourage talented students to join our High School. Donations to this fund are tax-deductible.
- The Hardship Fund – this fund was started to help any of our families who are going through a rough-patch and need temporary assistance with school fees.

Hardship
Continued enrolment at Newcastle Waldorf School is conditional on payment of school fees when they fall due. However, we understand that the unexpected may happen, putting a strain on the ability to pay fees. The school has partnered with Edstart to help with payment planning (see ‘Payment Options’ above). However, where this is not suitable, we would encourage you to read our Hardship Policy and to contact the school as soon as possible to discuss your options. We want to ensure that children can fully participate in the learning experience and the life of the school.
