Overview

Parents and caregivers at Newcastle Waldorf School are interested in a human-centred education that cares for the wellbeing of the children. They want an education for their children that offers a more individualised approach, an environment where their children’s unique potential will be intentionally drawn out. They want their children to be a part of a community and develop a sense of social responsibility. Real, practical application of learning, a connection to nature and a broad perspective in the world is important to them.

The College of Teachers share these hopes for the students and work in collaboration with families in meeting these goals. To bring families into the school community, we offer a variety of ways to engage. The most important of these is to develop a relationship with the teachers at the school. Parents can do this regularly, making time to meet individually with the teacher, or attending class talks to hear about the achievements of each child’s class.

When parents and teachers work together for the utmost benefit of the children, we see the children blossom with the full potential of their spirit.

We would like to acknowledge and give respect to the Awaba Custodians past, present and emerging who care for the land, waterways, skyways, animals, and people of the area in which we learn and play.
